Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Passed Away in a California Vehicle Accident

The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a traffic collision in California aged 55.

The tragic news was announced by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the video game company that he helped create.

The renowned industry figure passed away following his car crashed and caught fire on a freeway in Los Angeles on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.

"This represents an unimaginable loss, and we stand with Vince's family, his family, and all those touched by his creative vision," a representative from Electronic Arts stated.
