Uche Ignites Dominant Palace Triumph at Irish Side Shelbourne.
Even though embarking on their first-ever European adventure, Crystal Palace are learning very quickly. Missing star players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a commanding win that all but secures them a place in the Conference League playoffs.
A further victory in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS should be enough to secure straight passage to the last 16, especially following a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Opportunity
This occasion provided a chance for several Palace's lesser-used players to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second consecutive succession.
The Shelbourne team that had concluded their league season were no match even for a mostly second-string Palace lineup. The visitors were already weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee problems.
Dominance Established from the Outset

Youngster Adam Wharton came close minutes later, driving a long-range shot over the bar. Nketiah then appealed for a penalty after racing into the area, but the referee waved away the protests.
Ex-Arsenal man did not have wait long to get his goal, prodding home from a yard out after Uche's shot had struck the post.
The home side were hanging on for dear life. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to avoid a booking for two agricultural tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the crossbar with a header from a corner.

The match was as good as over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring with his very first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for development in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
