NFL Roundup: Broncos Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Affair

In a defensive struggle on Sunday, the Broncos clinched a close victory over the winless New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix threw an early touchdown pass and kicker Wil Lutz provided the late decisive three-pointer to secure the ugly win.

Despite recording nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after conceding a two-point play in the third quarter. Interestingly, the Jets could only produce a mere 82 total net yards throughout the entire game.

Nix, who completed 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, engineered a critical 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's short field goal with just over five minutes left.

Record Struggles for Jets Offense

Despite their dismal performance, the Jets maintained possession with a chance to score a possible victory. But Fields was tackled on fourth down from the Denver 44 after head coach Aaron Glenn chose to go for it rather than calling on specialist Nick Folk for a long kick.

The Jets quarterback had difficulties all game, completing just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. The Jets finished with negative ten net yards passing, the fewest in any game since 1998.

"The aerial attack was completely absent," Glenn commented after the game.
