Iran Reports Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone in the area of the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is unclear and the United States has not commented.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - reported they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a several projectiles," it added.
It said wreckage fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
