Discover 29 Latest Cards from Magic's TMNT Expansion (Featuring a Commander Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-eating superheroes are coming to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known trading card game's company, Wizards of the Coast, unveiled a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a special event held at New York Comic Con. Is this a exciting addition or simply another crossover marketing move? Let you be the judge.

Check out below at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including some useful background. All items listed here launches on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27.

MTG x TMNT: Core Set Cards

Before diving into the many unique products and collections available, we’ll examine at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by the developers. Standard booster packs for the expansion are set at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.

Let's unpack a couple of shell-shocking details. To begin, a new gameplay mechanic called Sneak, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, where players can cheat powerful creatures onto the game field when an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The key change in this case is that this new ability can affect spells that aren’t creatures too. The designers also took the opportunity to refine the ability a bit (Sneak is treated as playing a spell, unlike Ninjutsu). The original ability is staying, but it's more likely we'll see the new mechanic in upcoming expansions from now on.

“If we ever were to return to Kamigawa, we might use the original ability since that's where it originated and it’s a hallmark of that world,” an experienced designer stated. “However on other planes, since the rules are cleaner and Sneak is what's going to be in standard, it’s probable we’ll use the updated version.”

Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is among four special cards with special art designed specifically for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator the co-creator.

Additionally, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing cards that aren't in your deck, many players were. But according to Wizards, that's now a official card in all formats of Magic.

In any case, below are the highly unusual land cards with full art from this set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's current policy, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers state they were careful to ensure the cards and mechanics meshed well with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the design for 15 months and we knew it would be in standard and which sets were going to be alongside it in standard,” the designer says. “We designed to ensure that there's synergy with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet strategy built around artifacts.

“They mesh together to provide the pieces for a fun Standard-legal deck,” the designer added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power!

Following a decision to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just one precon, but it includes six distinct legendary cards that can serve as your commander based on how you combine them (five cards include a unique Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command area rather than just one). Take a look below:

This Commander deck is priced at $69.99, though that could easily go up due to popularity. Sources indicated that it contains 43 brand-new cards in total, which translates to an additional 37 TMNT-themed cards in addition to the six legendary commanders shown above. (Doing some rough math, that also means about 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the deck includes 37 lands.)

What will the Turtles version of Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

Typically, Wizards is offering a collection. This one is priced at $69.99 and contains the following:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • 15 Traditional foil basic lands
  • Fifteen Non-foil basic lands
  • Two Reference cards
  • One Foil promotional card
  • One Oversized life tracker
  • One storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

Here’s a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it is packaged in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Every pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and comes with the following:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • Five Traditional foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Traditional foil pizza bundle promotional cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • One Oversized spindown life counter
  • One storage box

For those curious about the “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s essentially a reprint of an older card featuring all-new Turtle-themed art. Wizards showed one for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter adding black licorice pieces on a pizza. There are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards available.

The Pizza Bundle releases a few weeks after the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This special bundle is designed for a four-player draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (the perfect amount a group of four to play draft)
  • One Collector Booster (also known as, the reward for coming in first)
  • 90 Non-foil land cards (to build your draft deck)
  • 10 Regular double-sided tokens
  • 1 Draft insert (a one-sheet instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)

Cooperative Play Set

Finally, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its ongoing effort to create Magic game products specifically for beginners. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of decks that let you and a friend team up against a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.

The general idea here that each Boss card grants special abilities to the creatures included in the boss deck. Each Boss automatically casts an additional card per turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
