British tennis star Emma Raducanu concludes this year's campaign and plans to retain her coach through next year.

Raducanu advanced to round three in three out of four major tournaments in the current campaign.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in the last two tournaments of the year due to a medical condition that has affected her for the last week and a half.

The 22-year-old had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to rest and recuperate ahead of launching next year's training.

Those preparations will involve her coach Francisco Roig, as they have agreed to work together for the upcoming season.

Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring while playing the initial match against Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She again required a doctor's assessment at the Ningbo Open this week, where she was defeated in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in the first round.

Her movement was noticeably restricted in the final set against Zhu due to back discomfort that has troubled her on several occasions in 2025.

These outcomes meant an encouraging season, in which she climbed into the international top 30 after a long gap in more than three years, finished with a trio of defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to Pegula in round three in Beijing last month.

She secured 28 victories in the current season and made it to the semi-final round in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami event in March.

The British number one reached the quarter-finals of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in a three-set match to fourth-ranked Pegula.

She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role in time for the US Open.

The original arrangement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with a training session scheduled for the end of the year.

Raducanu told that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

The player was close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their initial event as a team in August's Cincinnati tournament.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she reached the third round before being beaten by Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
