Series of Targeted Attacks
Since the beginning of the large-scale conflict in Ukraine, a series of Russian military officials have been attacked within Moscow.
This most recent event follows other notable incidents, for instance:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was died in a car bomb attack in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov perished in late 2024 when a bomb concealed on a scooter was triggered from afar.
While a informant earlier linked Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such assertions are never publicly admitted as a matter of policy.
The war has been marked by covert operations reaching into the heart of the Russian capital.
The investigation into General Sarvarov's death continues to be underway.
